Cavaliers Win Their First Men’s Basketball National Title

This April the University of Virginia Men’s basketball team brought home the 2019 NCAA Tournament Championship title in a thrilling overtime victory over Texas Tech. Immediately following the win, Musictoday launched a wide selection of championship gear on the Cavalier Team Shop. Marketing campaigns were also launched across several channels including email, Facebook, and Instagram The shop experienced record traffic and sales.
This spring CBS 19 News visited the Musictoday warehouse to an get inside look at the fulfillment process. CEO Del Wood noted the positive impact that the merchandise sales have had on the Virginia Athletic Fund, “They go out and they win a national championship, it lifts up the demand, we sell more merchandise,” said Wood. “Which every order, every item funds back to the VAF so that they’re able to, in a renewed cycle, support new student-athletes for the next win.”
