Musictoday veteran and loyal team member, Vicki Brown, oversees inventory and workflow in our warehouse.
Her official title is Manager, Warehouse Inventory and Workflow. Her responsibilities are vast and include ensuring inventory integrity and managing orders to see that they are picked in the most efficient manner possible. She also handles the warehouse management software, and her team pulls samples to be photographed by our creative department and gathers data for products for customers that have questions about specific items. Additionally, her team also moves SKUs around the warehouse based on velocity to assure optimal efficiency and deals with any inventory issues. Vicki also manages pre-orders and assures that they do not ship early and break street date.
One of Vicki’s favorite things about working at Musictoday has been watching the company grow. She is especially happy that the company has returned to “Musictoday” under the original ownership. When asked about a favorite product from the warehouse Vicki replied, “I’ve seen a lot of really cool posters over the years.”
Outside of work, Vicki keeps busy with various projects. “I love doing anything creative, especially in my yard and house”. When it comes to music, she will listen to almost any genre, excluding rap. Lately, she enjoys listening to bluegrass because she has a niece and a nephew who play in two different bluegrass bands. Her first concert was Charlie Daniels in Charlottesville when she was in high school.

A notable moment from Vicki’s many years of working at the company was the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that struck central Virginia in 2011. “I thought that a train had hit the warehouse”, she recalls.
Of course, there are other more pleasant memories from Vicki’s time at Musictoday as well. “One of the most fun activities that we did years ago was a male beauty contest. It was a fundraiser for United Way and we raised a lot of money”, she says. Sounds like an entertaining competition!
