Jam in the 'Dam 2007

Aimee Mann The talent of Aimee Mann, while finding a specific, yet wildly appreciative fanbase, has endured steadily over the last several years. And she's hitting the road again, this time in name of her new self-released (of course) effort, Lost In Space Sensitive yet ascerbic, Aimee Mann—with her unflappable self-reliance and considerable songwriting ability—proves a good example of the type of artist that is sadly dying out in pop music.[BUY GEAR]

Goo Goo Dolls This superpunk-turned-adult-contemporary rock trio (and an awesome "Behind the Music" subject to boot) is hitting the road for the second time this year. This tour is the second leg of the group's "Gutterflower" outing, which began in the spring to promote the new album of the same name.

Particle Particle’s sound is unique blend of electronica, jazz and funk—from outer space. This is the tour to see if you dig instrumental jams and non-stop danceable rhythms.

The Chieftains Irish Folk act the Chieftains have been playing their unique brand of Celtic classics for over 40 years now, proving they are indeed the “chiefs” of the genre. With special guests like Elvis Costello, Marianne Faithfull, Los Lobos, Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt appearing on Chieftains records, the band has enjoyed widespread popularity far beyond their native country of Ireland.

Bon Jovi Like G N’ R, Bon Jovi was another one of our 80’s favorites that we can’t seem to get over. “Living On a Prayer” has become a staple at keg-parties as college-kids relive the MTV of their childhood, you know, when the station actually played music videos.

Pearl Jam Get your flannel shirt out of the closet: Pearl Jam launches its Riot Act tour this month. Considering the success of 25 live albums released in 2000, 5 of which made it into the top 200, fans can expect a solid tour from Eddie Vedder and co.

Dark Star Orchestra More than your typical Grateful Dead cover band, Dark Star Orchestra is defiantly worth a listen. Like all good bands, Dark Star Orchestra boasts some famous fans— Phish’s Jon Fishman’s been known to take in a show. What makes DSO stand out among the throngs of other Dead cover bands is their uncanny ability to recreate classic Grateful Dead shows, following set lists of historic concerts to a T. Check ‘em out if you’ve ever wondered what a Dead show in 1977 might have sounded like.

Soulive The Boston funk-trio’s fan-following includes the likes of the Dave Mathews Band and the Roots. With special guest DJ Logic thrown into the mix, it’s sure to be a groovy time for all. [BUY GEAR]

David Gray British Singer/Songwriter David Gray hits the road this month and is creating a lot of industry buzz along the way. Go see what all the hype over this Saturday Night Live-worthy Brit is all about. [BUY GEAR]

Yonder Mountain String Band Hailing from the Rocky Mountains, the Yonder Mountain String Band’s brand of jam-band bluegrass is sure to move feet and hearts.

Apples In Stereo A kaleidoscope of '60s pop, the Apples have spent the last ten years bathing the indie-rock community in sunshine psychedelia, rich harmonies, and general fun. The band is out on the road supporting its most recent effort, the scrappy, harder rocking Velocity Of Sound.

Supergrass Lanky London power-pop brats Supergrass are making some stops in the U.S. in the near future. Finally striking a balance between their pop-punk roots and their more complex "musical" excursions on the recently released (and acclaimed) Life On Other Planets, the members of Supergrass are in top form to remind America of that ever-growing distant time when loud guitars and straightforward pop songs could actually be great music.

Ja Rule/Eve Rap poster boy Ja Rule and Ryde or Die chick Eve are pairing up to hit the road in February. Still riding the success of last year's The Last Temptation, Rule has become dominant on the airwaves with his succession of hit pairings with R&B divas.

Ben Kweller The precocious indie-popper will take last year’s Sha Sha back on the road for more earnest, carefree head bobbing. A reminder of the goofball magic that once was Weezer, Kweller, like the touchy foursome before him, gives hope to the young, possibly bespectacled geeks who just want to rock out with their sweaters on.

Donnas/OK Go With the release of Spend The Night, their fifth album in as many years, the four Donnas, veterans at the age of 22, are still going strong with their full-on punk/pop, flattening boys like bubblegum chewing mall chicks with bad attitudes and leather jackets. Joined by the sugarcoated quirk of OK Go, this tour is summed up by one word only: fun.

Sparta One offshoot of the demise of At The Drive-In, Sparta’s Wiretap Scars streamlines some of the frayed angst of ATDI, while remaining uncompromising and edgy, giving the kids something to scream about.

Steve Earle Titanic roots-rocker Steve Earle is going back on tour in support of his latest, Jerusalem. Despite a hard road both in life and in the industry, the uncompromising songwriter has managed to put out great records to high acclaim for over 15 years.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters This Colorado-based jam band has built a modest but devout following over the last 15 years, mostly due to its engaging and skilled performances. Vocalist Todd Park Mohr and his band of Monsters struck gold with their 1993 offering, Sister Sweetly.

Tori Amos One of the most well respected musicians of her generation, Tori has endured over the last decade, drawing in legions of devoted fans to her ever-evolving style. Her recently released Scarlet’s Walk is one of her most acclaimed albums since the mid-'90s, and her shows promise to provide the intimate clarity fans have found so meaningful in her music.

Kenny Chesney No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem is not only the title of this country star's latest No. 1 record, it's his life motto. This 30-something Tennessee native has sold nearly 10 million albums in his brief career. Chesney's "Margaritas and Senoritas Tour 2003" features opening act Kellie Coffey.

Nick Carter This former Backstreet Boy released his debut solo effort, Now Or Never, in the fall of 2002. Carter, who joined the '90s boy band champions at the tender age of 13, is now set to begin his first ever solo tour, right around the same time that ex-teen pop stars Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake are reportedly touring together. Stiff competition, but it's Now Or Never for Carter.

Santana What can we say that hasn't been said already? '60s/'70s rock 'n' roll icon, Woodstock, "Black Magic Woman," "Smooth," etc. Now, following the incredible success of 1999's Supernatural, Carlos Santana is back on the world stage, this time launching his world tour in support of Shaman with a pre-game appearance alongside Michelle Branch and Beyonce Knowles at Super Bowl XXXVII in San Diego. [BUY GEAR]

Ani DiFranco/Bob Dylan Ani and Bob—modern folk hero and music legend. Both artists have made their way in the industry through the power of words half-sung, half-spoken, accompanied by jangling guitars and the collective will of their fans. Did we mention that this tour is taking place Down Under?
